Dear Players and Families,
I’m writing to introduce myself and give a preview of the upcoming season. First, let me share a few details about myself. I grew up in Carlisle, MA and got my start playing with Concord-Carlisle Lacrosse. I then attended Phillips Academy (Andover) and played midfield on a highly successful team. After being recruited by both D1 and D3 programs, I opted to attend Fairfield University and play club lacrosse.
Since that time, I have spent the last twelve years coaching. I was an assistant at the varsity level for one year (2008) at Weston High School. From there, I moved to Washington, DC to begin my teaching career. I coached for five years with the WINNERS lacrosse program. There, I led a group of middle-school aged players to great success in the competitive Capital Region. I also had the great fortune of working alongside coaches from some of the nation’s top programs, notably Gonzaga College High School and Episcopal School. I take great pride in having been able to help place players from very underserved backgrounds at excellent schools such as Georgetown Prep and St. John’s (DC).
Since moving back to Massachusetts in 2014, I have been teaching and coaching at Fay School in Southborough. After assisting at the varsity level and being Head Coach of our 5th-6th grade team, I took over as Head Coach of the program this past school year. We have had great success playing against talented junior school teams like Fessenden and Fenn, and against the middle school programs of Independent School League powerhouses like Nobles and Greenough, Rivers, and St. Sebastian’s.
On the personal side of things, I live in Southborough with my wife Krista, and two daughters Nina (3) and Mary (1).
We have a great coaching group lined up for this summer, including Matt Dunning and Rob Wickstrom. Matt (who has coached with this group previously) was a standout attackman at Nipmuc Regional High School and club lacrosse player at UMass Amherst. Rob is currently a defender at Swarthmore College, having graduated from St. John's (Shrewsbury).
I’m excited to see you for our first practice on Wednesday, June 17th from 6:00-7:30 pm at Medway High School. Please reach out with any questions before that time, or come introduce yourself when we are at the field.
